The current record is held by a Canadian gamer, known as NerdFury, who achieved this feat with his gaming keyboard set up. He performed the feat on May 7th, 2020 and his impressive stats were published on Twitch after he achieved it. The challenge had a few rules — no pauses between clicks, there must be sustained clicks with only one hand, and you can't lift off your finger until the five seconds are up.

NerdFury's determination and tenacity paid off when he nailed 921 clicks within the given time limit – that's an average of 184 clicks per second! He shattered the previous world record of 839 spacebar clicks in five seconds held by another gamer named dragooonfute7 earlier that year. Following his achievement, NerdFury went on to break other records such as achieving 619 clicks in three seconds, 1545 in 10 seconds and 2073 in 30 seconds all within the same day.
